First off I am new, do not visit a lot, busy, real busy. However, I noticed that some questions are not answered. And I would appreciate if the more experienced members would explain why. The reason for this question is that obviously this site as a lot of knowledgeable members with super insight and tons of experience. And one of these days I will have a question and need to know what the members expect and need. Please answer my question, Thanks!

For me with moderating the entire site and trying to answer every single question
I can’t get to everyone. There is more of you than me. Doing are best. 🙂

Thanks for your answer. I am not complaining, just wondering if some of the questions needed to be more specific and more information added. This way if I have a question I will know what to do.

I remember a question on another forum concerning the fuel tank. I don’t remember the exact complaint but I had the FSM for that vehicle. So, I started looking at the fuel system on the tank and it was a plumbers nightmare with dual fuel pumps. Finally, after hours of study I was able to pinpoint the problem and advised the OP to replace a particular valve. That fixed it. The point is, I don’t have the time to constantly do that sort of research.

On another occasion a tradesman went to the shop and tried to duplicate a problem in an effort to solve the poster’s complaint. Sometimes, this is what it takes to solve car problems. You can’t expect that sort of service all of the time.

I understand that it is the individuals responsibility to do the research and as much work as they can. That way the good people that share their knowledge and expertise will be able to help solve the problem to the best of their ability.

Well, there’s some people who post and you can tell they haven’t even had the hood open. Then there’s some who post and you can tell they shouldn’t have the hood open. I rather have somebody spend too much money having their vehicle fixed then to lose a hand.

I don’t answer questions about types of vehicles I don’t know well. I also don’t like to speculate, so I tend to answer things only if I feel I know the issue. I also have gotten a bit rotten over all the questions from around the world about non-US cars, where the OP doesn’t say in their profile or post what country they are in. Right off the bat in those cases, if I want to help, I need to start by figuring out what country sold a 1997 Civic BS 1300 petrogas or whatever. I wrote a sticky about this issue that’s at the top of the S+R questions forum and have formally addressed it other times as well. At this point most of those posts get ignored as well.

I appreciate the feed back. I am not totally stupid, well maybe a little bit stupid, had a demo and figure 8 car for a number of years. However they obviously did not have control modules, sensors or actuators. And wife eventually put a stop to that. It was racing, fabricating half the night in the garage or her. I still have her! I am old school, late fifties and live here in the good ol U.S of A. Still love to work on cars or pick up trucks, I like Chevy anything. Its a family tradition. Go MARINE CORP. Just want feel out the site so when I need help I can get it. A lot of great stuff here I really enjoy it. Thanks again.

Sometimes I guess we just don’t know the answer.

Or some of us don’t feel like discussing things we are not sure of…no answer is better the the wrong answer. For example, I cannot answer a question about an Audi Airbag or something, so I don’t go out of my scope.
