I have a blown head gasket on my Windstar minivan. some have suggested that installing a good working used motor is a better choice than replacing the damaged gasket. what say you?

I would not throw a motor away for a head gasket.

If the rest of the engine is ok then I would replace both head gaskets. If the engine has high mileage and is using oil and or noisy then a used engine might be better. Only problem is you might end up replacing head gaskets on it too If it’s an older 3.8L engine head gaskets are a known issue with them..
