Passenger side started making noise, turned out the boot was ripped and grease had leaked out.

There was no play in the tire when checking for movement, so I happened to have a rubber boot that fit in its place.

I took old boot off, cleaned off as much old grease as I could although it still looked decent, and repacked with new grease. Hoping it’ll last me a while before replacing whole upper control arm/ball joint

I wiped the threads but there was still a thin layer of grease one them, would this cause the castle nut to come loose over time or am I overthinking?

Nice. Hopefully it’ll give little longer life to the ball joint till I can afford to replace it.
