The filter being installed backwards was my first thought.

          Welcome to the forums!

+1 on making sure the filter is installed the correct way.

I would recheck you work and most fuel filters have a stamped arrow or are marked inlet and outlet.

          Keep us posted!

The fuel pump will only cycle for a couple seconds when you turn the key to the on position and don’t crank the engine to prevent flooding, so if you are turning the key and running back to the tank, it will be off by then. Most I’ve seen are loud enough that the whine is audible in a relatively quiet setting. As outdoorsman asked, could the filter be on backwards? They usually have an arrow point one way and the word “Flow” on the side of the canister.

Try pulling the inlet side of the fuel filter and key on the fuel pump to see if fuel is being pumped.if not go from there. good luck

+1 on checking the fuel filter as it is the most logical explanation since you just changed it.

                      +1 on the above post.

Make sure you actually have PLENTY of fuel in the tank and that the filter is installed correctly. then double check the fuse box making sure the relay is in the right spot. also make sure to check your fuel lines for leaks and if p

If you did put in the filter backwards, I would replace it, because any debris captured by the filter media will be sent to the front of your fuel system if you reverse it now.

This is an excellent suggestion. Did you get it fixed? Inquiring minds want to know… 🙂
