repair door lock actuator ’03 caravan

….wondering if anyone has ever repaired the remote door lock actuator, front driver’s side…..as opposed to replacing….also….what causes the “screech” sound when activated?

It could be that the lock mechanism need to be lubricated and the actuator is straining to move it
or its just worn out.

Known failure on that vintage of caravans, I have an 06 with the driver sliding door that does not work anymore. Take panel off and activate and look for your screeching noise.

I would check the bar that goes to the lock leveler and the door lock and see if they are getting stiff… might try lubing it with the lithum spry you might get lucky and fix it or you will have to replace it in then end unfortuany thats a sign of it failing…. but lub it and I say try your luck

thanks Rob….the lever seems to work fine… it sounds like the noise is coming from the actuator…..and it appears that it has rivets holding it together…
