Got a 1986 Renault utility chassis that is in need of brake repairs. Not able to locate parts locally for this job. Basic parts needed, wheel cylinder rebuild kit, brake springs replacement, shoes, etc.
The wheel cylinders are pitted and the boots need replacement. Brake fluid leaked and soaked the shoes. I have been told to use a torch and burn off the brake shoes as they have surface material still in good tolerance for re-use. This might work I guess but never have tried it. Domestic shoes easy to obtain best to just replace them. With this project due to foreign manufacture not able to locate replacement parts for the job. The return springs are in bad shape and should be replaced. Don’t know what to do on this job. With a bucket of bad parts and no luck finding replacement or rebuild parts for the job.
