      Am in upstate NY like you so thought you would be the one to ask. I would like to remove the passenger seat in my 98 Chevy S10 for camping. Mechanic says its illegal to do. Looking around on the net I get conflicting answers.
      What’s your opinion?

        I don’t see why it would be illegal.
        Call your local police department’s non emergency number and verify with them.
