Remove bolt at harmonic balancer

I am planning on replacing the timing belt/waterpump on a 1998 Honda Accord in a couple of weeks – 61k miles on it. Looking for tips/tricks on holdng the harmonic balancer in place while removing the bolt – no power tools – backyard mechanic. I have an Advance Auto Parts close by if pullers etc are suggested.

No pullers needed, but the crank pulley bolt will be very tight. Normal cars you can just impact it off, but not Honda. You need a crank pulley holder, a couple large breaker bars, and a jackstand. Observe the following technique and expect to perform the same procedure:

You can put a breaker bar and socket on the bolt and wedge the handle so that it cant turn and crank the engine (one small crank with key) to crack (loosen) the bolt and then undo the bolt.

That’s the way I do it on my Toyota. Make sure the breaker bar is wedged well, nothing breakable in the ‘line of fire’ in case it gets away, and nobody standing near the engine. Sounds scary, but it works.
