Remote starting Issues (astrostart astroflex)

Hey Im looking for help from anyone who knows how to troubleshoot a remote starting system I have astrostart astroflex.

Here is a quick run down of the vehicle I have the system on.

1999 Pontiac grand prix GT 3.8L 190,000 miles.

So My old remote broke about 2 years ago and I finally decided to get a new one. I used to have a 5 button remote that was called a 4204. My new remote which was recommended to me by a dealship is a 2204 and I have synched it up with the brain under the following procedure.

Flip switch 8 on brain , press button on remote,pressing the brake. ZThat part seems to have gone OK because my buttons are working and the vehicle is responding. The problem is that when i try to start it with the remote it turns over for a split second and then shuts off. The system was previosly working two years ago with no issues.

Any input would be great!

yes it worked two years ago with the old remote

Honestly I know very little about these aftermarket systems. You might see if you can contact the manufacturer for troubleshooting information.
