Remnants of head gasket (pic)+Camshaft wear pic question

Got most of the head gasket off a 88 honda accord, will remaining fire ring impressions make a difference in sealing on new gasket? ive gotten it off as much as possible..

car didn’t have any drive ability symptoms, just tearing everything down and replacing/ refreshing components as much as i can as everything is dry rotted worn or rusted. What about this scoring on the cam shaft love?

the closest one i can find for this engine/car is a dorman 02602 which measures from 34-38mm. the exact freeze plug size needed for this block is 35mm. the size fits but it seems too long. I suppose ideally the length needs to be under an inch and this measures an inch and 1 centimeter in length. Does the expansion plug need to be flush against the block or can it sit out a bit? I’ve never used one before but no way am I going to be able to drive in freeze plugs with the amount of space I have to work with. I also noticed that the plug will shorten when tightened which I didn’t test yet, just assumed it wouldn’t fit based on first impression fit. Do you have any other resources for rubber expansion plugs other than dorman? Thas all i’m able to pull on a google search and at my local auto parts stores

If your measurements are correct.. ( 35mm)
Your looking for a plug that can seal a ~ 1 3/8 opening.
