Regenerative braking

Hey Everybody,

Could somebody help me get this term which Im not able to get straight and that is “Regenerative braking”. Well I ve been going through lot of forums and discussions outside ETCG as well to get know how actually this term works in Hybrids and Hybrid Electric Vehicles.

I think it is a sending of a charge to the batteries during braking of the vehicle to give the batteries a small charge to keep them charged for little longer before they need to be recharged.

Regenerative braking uses the heat/energy from stopping a vehicle and charges the hybrid battery up on a hybrid vehicle. A lot of heat is generated from braking and this is an efficient method of recharging.
