Ericthecarguy and everyone else,Check out how sloppy this guy is at putting this engine together. Crazy video I couldn’t believe it myself – using a chisel to install piston rings lol.

It costs $20 to get a ring compressor ( http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Piston-Ring-Compressor-Ratchet-Band-Style-Removal-Install-Set-7-to-2-1-8-Large-/370770349719?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item5653a28e97&vxp=mtr ) this is the one i usualy use it works fine, and probably if you looked around another 20-30 for the pliers. I wonder if that ran.

i am not really down on the guy for using whatever tools he had on hand to get the job done; however, i did not see any measurements at all… cylinder clearances have an accuracy of thousanths of an inch… main bearing and cam clearances are in terms of ten-thousanths of an inch… ol’ boy didn’t even take one measurement. guess that’s redneck style.

Cheap fix? Wonder how many miles it will go before it dies? Were the cylinders honed before pistons with new rings were put back in? were the top 2 rings installed with the correct sides up? Couldn’t believe he power washed the inside of the cylinders!!!
