Just bought an Isuzu Amigo not too long ago. Looked in the manual for what oil to use in the transmission and transfer case and it says SG or SF. What would be safe to use in place of this?

      Thanks in advance
      Dave

          Presuming, it’s manual transmission?
You should also replace oil in rear differential, and front differential. I am safely assuming, if you have transfer case, then you have front diff and rear diff.
I’ll be soon known in this forum as Amsoil guy. Amsoil has oil appropriate for any application and much better quality. And no, I have no financial interest in Amsoil – but a lot of very happy cars maintained with it.

The latest API motor oil spec is SN, and it’s backwards-compatible for older vehicles. What’s the year of this Amigo, amigo?
