      Fellow Car DIYers,

      A. My Ride: 2002 Honda Odyssey EX with 146,000+ miles
Problem: A/C Compressor Locked Up. Metal shavings all over the system thus the need for the a/c system overhaul.
      B. Actions Done So Far:
      1. Removed dead a/c compressor. Purchased a replacement.
      2. Removed A/C Hoses and flushed.
      3. Removed condenser and flushed. Will replace filter and dryer
      4. Removed FRONT Evaporator and flushed. Plan on replacing expansion valve when order arrives

      Questions/Need Help On:
      1. I plan also on flushing the REAR evaporator also, any idea on how to get to it. I followed the hoses to it and looks like it is located the right side just above the right wheel well. Anybody has details on how to remove it – like what panels do I have to remove, etc?.

      2. Any suggestions or comments on what I have done so far.

      3. I know, I know. I have been planning on getting the shop service manual for this car just like with my other hondas.

      Thank you in advance,

      DirtyOldMech

Since you have such easy access from under the vehicle I would just flush from there. It’s important to back flush so if one hose is smaller than the other flush through the ‘big’ pipe, the smaller line is usually the feed line going in. If you do it this way you minimize the risk of clogging up the expansion valve.
