I am getting a clunking sound in the rear suspension of 2003 honday odyssey minivan. Have changed brakes pads and rotors. The sound was before changing brakes. This happens when i go over a bump and sometimes when i round a corner. When the back has passengers in it, sometimes when the car has been stopped and put in park, and the passengers get off, there may be the clunk again. It sounds like the rear spring is “shifting” in its holder? The spring is intact. The resting height of vehicle is fine. All joints and bolts seem secure and tight. I just can’t find anything that is making this sound.

      Any ideas?

        Sway bar bushings. 90% guarantee.

Honestly it could be so many things, when people try to describe suspension noises to me, it needs to be taken to a shop and shaken down.

I would also recommend looking at the sway bar bushings for starters, but I think the entire suspension should be checked out. I cover the specifics of that here.
