Honestly I didn’t know that they put independent rear suspension or rear wheel steering in that vehicle. I think you are looking at the stabilizer bar end link and calling it a ball joint. If I am correct the end link is really easy to change as long as you lift the entire back of the vehicle off the ground and support it so there is no load on the axle. If one tire is on the ground the bar will be really had to move into the correct position because it will be trying to level the vehicle.
If you are correct and there is actually a ball joint on the rear of the vehicle you can get a loaner tool from one of your local big chain auto parts stores for a deposit and get all your money back when you return it. Having a ball joint press makes the job easy for the average shade tree mechanic. Hope this helps.

I agree, I don’t think there is a ball joint back there because they use a straight axle in the rear. That said I also think you may be talking about a stabilizer link. Is there any way you could post a picture for us?

Iam really surprized , there is in fact a rear upper support ball joint , which i just recieved from ups It mounts to the top of the pumpkin ( dif) with 3 bolts and is connected to an a frame upper support. it is there so the rear end can move more freely
              during extreme conditions
