I have a96 Honda Civic dx hatchback 5 speed. 1.6 . The problem I have is the computer is showing the incomplete readiness cycle for oxygen sensors and cat. I do not have a cat so my question is could not having a cat cause the computer to stay in its readiness cycle for the 2 items. I gave no codes. I would think that the computer would show cat efficiency code because both oxygen sensors have same readings. What other things could I check to get this problem resolved.
      Thanks

Removing the cat is illegal and is bad karma. You’re sharing thi world with 6 billion other people who have to breathe that air. Please install a cat.

I did not remove the cat in the first place. I just acquired the car because owner couldn’t pay his bills so he sold it to me. Thought it was too good to be true that there would be nothing wrong with it. Hasn’t given me any problems til now. That is why I asked that question. Passed emissions 2 years ago but not now

Whoever removed the cat broke federal law. Unfortunately, by buying that car, you have undertaken moral and legal responsibility to put in a cat before driving it on public roads. On the bright side, Walker and Bosal make very affordable OEM replacements.
