I am very proficient at changing my own brakes and have done it on many vehicles but this one has me baffled.

Vehicle is 2008 Chrysler town and country (the wife’s car). It has rear discs that have the parking brake integrated in the caliper. I changed the brakes without issue. I turned the piston with the tool until it was fully compressed. Reassembled everything and cycled the parking brake lever to ratchet the caliper back out to the proper clearance.

The problem is I have one caliper on passenger side that did not adjust. I have cycled the parking brake pedal close to 200 times and it is still 1/16 of an inch (give or take) away from touching the pads.

Anyone have any tricks how to get this thing back out?

I would get someone to help, pull the cable off the caliper and have them apply the parking brake to see if the cable itself is even moving and go from there. It is also possible that the mechanism somewhere on the caliper end is seized up.

I replaced the caliper in question and that fixed the problem.
