Issues under a load are usually ignition related. It is really important to use OEM ignition components if you choose to replace them.

Using the appropriate MAF cleaner on the MAF sensor would be a good idea. Just make sure you remove it from the vehicle and clean both sides of the sensor.

When was the last time the vehicle had a tune up? Is the fuel filter replaceable on this model?
