I am working on my daughters 95 grand am SE. The passenger rear brake locks up under the slightest touch after the car has set overnight or after and hour or so. The ABS light is on but that shouldnt cause the brake to lock up like that. When you first start driving, every time you barely hit the brakes the RR locks up and will continue to do so the next couple of times you apply them. Wheel cylinder is good no leaks. Shoes are almost new. Adjuster works properly. Yes the shoes are on correctly. I did replace the brake hardware and that seemed to have fixed it for about 2 months then it started all over again. Im at a total loss…. HELP!

This may sound stupid, but did you install the shoes the wrong way? There may be a primary and secondary shoe…. I am not sure it can be installed backwards on this model, but something to think about….

Im sure I got them in correctly.. Triple checked it myself. Ive been chasing this one for about 9 months now. :blink:
What quality of shoes did you use? I ask because I have seen the cheap shoes do exactly what you are describing. The glue that holds the friction material on the steel lining seeps through the shoe and makes the brakes lock up.
