So I have two vehicles that i am.having volume control issues on the stock radios. Basically when you turn the volume knob it doesn’t really respond or the volume will go way up and it will be difficult to turn it down. Also when adjusting the volume it will be erratic andthe level will go up and down. Is this a case of dirty contact points inside the radio and would tuner spray or contact cleaner fix this problem?

I haven’t worked on electronics in a long time but those radios likely use rotary encoders in some form, not sure if they’re serviceable at all. Might have to desolder the old one and replace.

I think I’d rather just replace the radios with new ones, not too fond of aftermarket units over the oem radios though
