Hi Guys, I have here a 1993 Honda Accord Wagon. The problem is that the car was in a front collision and is now repaired, but when the front was pushed right in, it was driven home from the accident but the fans were jammed and blew the fuse under the hood. I replaced the fuse after I repaired all the panel work but the fans wont work at all. I have done a few tests and it looks like it could be leaning towards the Fan Control Unit. Only issue is i have no idea where you find it!! Does any body have any ideas where I can find this, or ideas on what could be the issue here. Also to add it has new fans which I tested and they work fine. I even plugged the old fans in and they dont work either.

Hope someone has some knowledge on this. Cheers

here is a link for a wiring diagram. check the fuses and relays
under the hood.If you switch the ac on do both fans run?

Hi College Man, Thanks for your reply & the link. Unfortunately they do not run when you hit the A/C button. I know they used too but not since the crash. I know the fan motors work as I have tested them.

with a meter or test light.find the fan relays. jumper
the line side.that will eliminate the wiring to the fan
if they come on.next check the coil side of the relay for
voltage. then check the relay itself.

Hi college man, I have jumped the line side and the fan runs fine, and also the coil side has 12v on it when the key is on so looks like the relay is ok. I even swapped it to make sure. I’ve been right through the circuit diagram and checked the appropriate fuses and they are all ok. The only one that blew after the crash was the 20A in the underhood fusebox. Do you know where I can find the Fan Timer Unit? People are saying that its under the dash by the kick panel in the car, but I cant find it anywhere.

well wait a minute. if you jumped the line side and fans
came on.then the wiring is good. then you checked coil voltage
and there is 12v the relay should close and the fans should come
on.I would check that relay.Let me find the print and take a look.

I should mention this is only the Radiator Fan that came on when I did that. There is 12V on both sides of the coil when I turn the key. No worries ill let you find that diagram.

ok there are two relays one for the rad fan and one for condenser.
if you jumper white to blue/blk for the rad fan relay does the fan come on?
next if you jumper white to blue/green for the condenser fan does the fan
come on? sorry about the delay printed the diagram.

No Worries! Thanks for your time. Just an update on my side. I unplugged the temp sensor on the thermostat housing and shorted the plug and with a wire and it ran the fans. So turns out the fans are working when the car comes up to temperature. Seems the issue is only with the AC. Does the Air Conditioning system need pressure in the system in order for the fans to work? As the crash destroyed the Air Con Radiator and I had no choice but to release the Refrigant when I changed that radiator. So the Air Con is completely out of Gas. I just wondered if that would be to do with anything?

the condenser fan should work if put in ac mode.even with out refrigerant.
so there is know problem with the rad fan only ac
