I have an 07 Mazda 3 (2.0l i-series). My drivers window controls aren’t working all the time and I’d like to swap out the motor to see if that’s the problem or if it’s the switch. My first thought was to take the left front motor and swap it for the left back motor, but I was looking online at motors and they say that it’s crossed over, the right front is the same motor as the left rear and the left front is the same as the right rear. Before I go taking door panels off, is this right?

      Thanks!

Instead of swapping motors check if power is present to the motor.
If it is motor is suspect.

Thanks. I ended up just swapping them. It is back right to front left and swapping them didn’t fix anything. Off to look for used switches.

Is power present to the switch?

Yes, I assume so. The window goes down just fine, it’s going up where it either works or you sit there clicking the switch for 30 seconds until it finally decides to go up. Also, every other window works fine from that set of switches, it’s only the drivers one that’s funny.

My suggestion is to not assume there is power. If the motor is
trying to go up and the same problem is happening with a known
working motor check the window regulator and power before you buy
                any parts.

Just in case anyone reads this later: I finally got some incredibly small t-star screw drivers so I could get into the thing, took apart the switch, cleaned it all out and now the whole thing works fine.
There was some pollen or something inside gumming it up.
