Whats is it and should it be loose? I noticed this a week or so ago when i changed the oil. This is really loose to the point when the car is running i can see some small bubbles which i can only presume are oil.

Use PVC glue to fix this plastic elbow. It’s use as a oil engine head valve spring oil return. You need also to change the hose connected to this elbow and clamp this tiny hose whit screw steel clamp.

take the hose off and go to an auto part store.
match up a pre bent piece of heater hose the same
diameter. You may need to trim the length.

I think what you are seeing is a loose fitting PCV valve and the rubber gromet is probably hardened and worn. Just replace the gromet but a slight leak here is not a deal breaker. The PCV valve allows fumes from inside the engine to be sucked into the intake and burned. If it is not a good seal you might see some slight oil leakage account the engine is not running in a vacuum.

If you are getting vacumm from the intake, you should not see bubbles on the outside of the PCV valve so pull the hose off and see that there is plenty of suction. Or, your PCV valve may be clogged causing it not to pass air. CHECK BOTH. You can clean the PCV.

Changed the pipe over and put some clamps on instead. It was blocked up as well and that was why it was bubbling when running on the old pipe. Its fine and clean now.

Next job will be changing the Brake calipers and restoring the old ones for sale or spare set. After pay day that is.

I really like how you answered the issue with the pictures and the arrows. You have taught me how to display a solution more effectively.
