Hello form, I have a 98 nissan maxima 3.0L I am in the process of installing an aftermarket alarm. Power lock and unlock both can be found at the “AT LOCAL CONTROL UNIT”. Can anyone show a picture of this. Is this the ECU? Here is a link to show what diagram Im using http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?TID=66378

according to the wiring legend.under alarm and keyless entry.
power lock/unlock are located inside drivers door switch. These
wires go to the body control module or the fuse panel.now there
is a note there.(231) which you would have to read for the double
          pulse. 🙂

I have made all the electrical connections excepted for the lock and unlock. I read I must run the wires thur the door to the switch. My questions is, Do I need to run a relay? I have heard I do then again I have heard you dont need to.

I can’t tell if you need a relay or not based off the info.
maybe the unit itself acts as the relay.

I am wiring a Viper 350 not sure if that info helped much. This is the my first time wiring an alarm, and really my first time getting my hands on some electrical work. I wired the lock which is “green” on the alarm to “L green/red”. Then the Unlock which “blue” on the alarm to “green/yellow”. However I press the the remote buttons then don’t work think they should. You mentioned double pulse. what does that mean.

based off the literature that you provided. The 231 note which
is not provided. said something about double pulse. Can you post
the wiring diagram from the kit?

I have wired up everything correctly except the door harness, and all is functioning properly, However after I wired the lights, the headlights blink three times and the door locks don’t move.

Nothing I had it right the first time, both connections I made were correct. I let the car sit for about two hours hit the remote and it was locking and unlocking. Note to unlock I need to hit unlock twice. That might be the double pulse that was on the cheat sheet.
