I have a 1985 Ford Bronco and have virtually no rear brakes. So far I have rebuilt both rear brakes (shoes, springs, hardware, wheel cylinders). I previously replaced the master cylinder and the booster. It seems the only thing left is the proportioning valve.
My question is this: Is there a way to repair the valve or does it need to be replaced? My dealer wants over $300 for the part and I don’t want to lay out that kind of money if I don’t have to. I know I could check salvage yards for one but that is a crap shoot.
Any advice?
