      Hello

So I am looking for a professional level OBD2 diagnostic tool to use in my business. I am looking for either a software on laptop to connect to the car or a handheld one. Most important thing I am looking for is being able to use it for a wide range of cars (American to European).

      Suggestions and advises are welcome

      thank you

        Really depends on your budget…..
They range from a few hundred to well over $10,000.00

The problem on high end scanners, from what I’ve personally seen, isn’t to do with the scanner and much as everything else related to the repair. Mitchell and Identifix have no, or very limited support for some models.

Something like the OTC encore is probably the lowest you can go without losing what I’ll call tech level functions, that are often associated with factory scan tools. Like relearns of actuators etc….

Also don’t forget to see how much the software updates cost. Scan tools aren’t really that expensive in the grand scheme of things, but add in another $2000 a year for software updates and any economy is lost.
