I have NEVER seen this before Tires to day are not as good as they were years ago case in point
April of 2010 and june 2010 I got 4 new tires for my sons grand cherokee and my wife’s grand cherokee
I bough 8 coppers ATRs checked the date code when I bought them and it show that they were two months old
Today I can see thee is a little cracking on the side walls
I check these tires every week for tire pressures roated them every 5,000 mile booth sets has about 10,000 mies ion them They have 8/32 on the tread today I went online and see there is a major problem with BF Goodrich and Michelin and coper is suppose to be one of the better tires I am finding out there seems to be a lot of this happening today
Has any one else seen this

The Good Year tires installed on my Jeep Grand Cherokee from the beginning of last year are doing very well. Thus far the tires are in great shape and no signs of any issues. They were installed around 30k miles ago.

Also where i work, we only sell Good Year tires too.

I have noticed when serving some customer vehicles that show excessive tire wear on newer tires tend to be an issue with lower quality brands.

Are your tires still under warranty?

My Grand cherokee came new with goodyears .They only lasted 10,000 miles The problem with my coppers is I bought them online and I cant find the bill. so forget the warranty
Yesterday I took brake fluid and wiped down the side walls and then took ATF and wiped them down This Morning I cant find the cracks THEY were very small before.Talked to a few guys down the shop and they seem to think its what the city of philadelphia is doing> Every winter for the last five years when They say its going to snow the city goes NUTS putting down BRIME Witch is nothing BUT liquid SALT This past summer I had to replace ALL of my brake lines on ALL of my cars because the lines were badly rusted > down at my friends shop that ALL he did all summer long Every car that came in his shop had to have the brake lines replaced. In all my years as a mechanic I have NEVER seen so many cars with rusted out brake lines WE replaced them with ones that are powered coated I think this liquid salt is F”’ing every thing up including the tires
what I am going to do for now in the winter is once a month wipe down the tires side walls with a little brake and tranny fluid and see what happens

Is it really a good idea to put brake fluid and ATF on your tires I have never heard of this?

If you use tire shine, and maybe that atf stuff that will make your tires dryrot QUICK.
