Problems with sign up: emails with periods in them

I tried multiple times to sign up with my main email address (which, for the sake of argument say is something.s.something@gmail.com.) and every time it would tell me that I didn’t enter an email address. I also tried my secondary email address that also has a period in it with the same result. I eventually tried an old email address with no periods and that worked perfectly fine. Just a heads up.

Also when entering the password in the signup, it shows it as a clear text (as opposed to *********), while this isn’t a big deal it is against general design guidelines.

it is probably due to you already having an account i see that quite often, people forget they are using that same email for an account on here. As for the password being shown i know its not within some design guidelines, but that is what they are guidelines and the ease of the site for the users is needed here. If it really becomes an issue then ill change it.

Usually when passwords are shown in clear text it is in place of having a “confirm password” box. Having clear text passwords and a confirm box is kind of strange.

maybe but it saves me a ton of work when it comes to emails from people who screwed up their password and cant see it.
