Want to change out the plugs in my 2010 Prius. Can anyone link me to a detailed how-to on this job?

EDIT I just realized I posted this to the wrong forum, can a moderator move it for me?

I’ll answer this anyways, i believe on all hybrid systems you have to do a procedure to disable the big hybrid battery ( if you get shocked by it, it will most likly kill you )

i believe that in the Prius they use an iridium Spark plug that typically lasts 120K mile
and i do know that in the owners manual it states that plug change should be done at dealership (mainly because of that fat orange battery pack cable to the trunk is high voltage like 270 volt and dangerus)

Step 1: disable the batteries. Got it. Thanks guys!

that’s not exactly what i said your skin roughly has 1 mega ohm of resistance and 50 dc and 30 ac is enough to over come that. now you are dealing with a drive battery that is 270 volt dc i just wouldnt touch it period BUT
if you want to there is an orange plug you need to pull to disconnect the HV battery to make the car safer to work on and its in the trunk

pull it all the way out
AGAIN REALLY SUGGEST GOING TO A DEALERSHIP at least for a hybrid
now with this said idk what is covered or what voids the warranty (if you have one )

Again, thanks for the heads up. I found an actual video walk through over at PriusChat where the dude showed all the disassembly required plus the plug removal. I’m about to message him to find out about battery disconnection and what he did. AFAIK he’s still sucking air so he must have done something right. I’d love to take the dealer route for ALL my service but if there is something I can do on my own I am always willing to try, hence my fact-finding mission regarding these plugs. I followed Eric’s walk though for doing the plugs in my Element and it was perfect. So, again, thanks for the heads up regarding the batteries.

Ok some I’m a Toyota tech worked with shitloads of priuses…. I usually get the major services on them. The best plugs to get are iridium NGKs or Denso plugs. You don’t have to and never should touch any of the hybrid system….HIGH VOLTAGE STAY AWAY. Take the plastic cover off the petrol engine like you normal work unplug harness from the coil packs. Remove the 10mm bolt holding each coil pack down. Remove the coil ( doesn’t matter what order they go back in the connectors do though so remember which connector went where ) Remove plugs and replace Then reverse until your back where you were . 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
