Present situation-It doesn’t work from the main switch (on the driver door) or the switch at the passenger door. I don’t hear any noises either.

Contest/History-It has been for about 5 years that my rear passenger side power window doesn’t work. It got stuck when it was below and I took it to a mechanic and he opened up the panel made it go up. He removed something so that someone doesn’t roll it down accidently. Back then I had no idea of DIY stuff and so I let it be. Now I want to fix it.

Where do I begin? Any insight will be appreciated

Now the video shows a power probe being used. I don’t have that. Can I use a basic Digital multi-meter to do what is being done in video.

            Yes you can 🙂
Also here’s a video on how to replace the rear window regulator. since neither of the switches work it’s likely the motor/regulator assembly.

I’m going to go with it being the regulator as well. Usually, only one switch fails at a time, and one continues to work. When neither switch works, it is a pretty good guess that there is a problem with the regulator, but more importantly . . .

the window got stuck in the down position . .. that is almost ALWAYS a problem with the regulator. I suspect, what your mechanic did was disconnect the wiring from the regulator motor. I would guess once you get into the door, you will see the wiring is unplugged there. Plug it back in, and it is very likely that you will be able to roll your window back down again, and get it stuck there again lol. Have a look at that, and I suspect you will be replacing the regulator, and then everything will work fine.
