Power Window Issue

      Hi guys,

The power window on the drivers side isn’t working correctly. All windows work ok, as in, pressing the switch for each window makes the window go either up or down, but the drivers side, with that switch, it has that automated function, where pushing it one extra click, the window goes down automatically, and pulling it one extra click, automatically goes up.
The drivers side window does still work, I can open and close it.. it’s just that automated feature that’s not responding.

I’m not exactly sure what that feature is called or the mechanism that controls the window, but was hoping someone might be able to give some feedback as to what might control this or even cause this to not function.

Now, a few things I should mentioned.

      1. I have been detailing the inside of the car. I have used some all purpose cleaner on the tip of a paint brush to clean around the switch.. I guess it’s possible liquid got in there.. BUT.. that was a few days ago and before I started, I disconnected the NEGATIVE terminal of the battery.

      2. I removed the seats of the car, which have functions attached to them, including Side airbags and heated seats. I’m not sure if this has any links to it or not.

      3. The car is a 2005 HONDA CRV Sport. I haven’t encountered any other electrical issues yet.

      Any suggestions would be super.

Disconnecting the battery may reset the window auto feature. CHeck your owner’s manual on how to reset it. Or the detailing fluid may have disabled the switch. Don’t detail anymore and let the switch dry out. seat removal does not affect the windows and the unit inside the door that raises and lowers the window is a window regulator which seems to work fine.

          Awesome!, thanks delwyn!

When you mentioned about the battery, I jumped onto google and came across this video.

Turns out, I had to “re-program” the automatic window switch due to disconnecting the battery. Didn’t realize it was a programmable feature.. always thought it was just an automatic switch in the regulator.

All working now! thanks again 🙂
