I’ve got a 2000 Honda Prelude, the power window on the driver side has stopped working, it has also stopped controlling the passenger side window, everything else works fine, ex. power mirror, power door locks, heated seats, stereo speakers, etc.

I was able to higher the window by applying 12volts directly to the power window motor, this tells me the motor and regulator are working fine.

I then began testing the power switch (female side) coming from the wiring harness (from the door jam), manual says I should have 2 positive wires, one that is “Hot”(F16 white/yellow wire) and the other one that only measures 12volts when the vehicle’s ignition switch is on the II position.(F19 green/white wire) I don’t have 12volts going to the green/white wire, ground wires all all fine.

Instead of fixing the “open wire” most likely located at the door jam would I be able to just jump F16 to F19?

If you dont have 12 volts on the green and white wire jumping the wire isnt going to help you because there is no voltage coming from the green and white wire if you jump the 2 wires could keep the motor on 24/7 need to find were the green and white wire goes to does it go to the ECM or to the door ajar switch when you find the end of the green wire test the voltage there if no voltage at the end of the wire there might be a break in the wire some were or the circuit could be bad

The hot wire would more then likely be hot no matter if key is in ignition or not that would be a always hot running wire best would be to search were the green and white wire ends even if that means searching the door jam

The break is definately in the door jam, problem is there’s no room to work in that area, atleast with my hands.

I’ve attached the wiring diagram.

It goes to passenger side multiplex unit which is the red wire that is probably the culprit are you positive it’s mainly a electronic problem I saw in the video you showed that it locked sometimes and then a second later passenger door unlocked after a few presses that tells me there is problem with electrical for the door locks but passenger side dosent have anything to do with driver side window let me look at the diagrams a little more

Hey Antonio
Thanks for the help.

I’ve owned the car since new, haven’t had 1 fuse blow on me.
I’ve posted the page that was missing, I didn’t post it before as that page deals with Passenger side controls which work fine.

I’m thinking the blue and red wire on the main driver side door switch for windows might be broken or frayed or has a pin hole that wire goes from window switch to driver side and passengerside multiplex control units for both sides of vehicle the blue and white wire on passenter multiplex control module goes to passenger window motors and that wire is blue and white which is on diagram 23-115 if you follow the lines on 23-115 put diagram 23-114 on left side of 115 diagram you will see it runs to main switch blue red wire runs down middle of page on diagram 23-114 to multiplex unit strait to driver side window motor I think the problem is that blue and red wire

Which also runs to power window master switch for driver front and rear windows and passenger front and rear windows it’s all one circuit so I think one wire went bad and that’s why one driver side window and one passenger side window isnt working

Hey Antonio
My car only has 2 windows, Passenger and Driver.

Presently the Passenger Side window works perfectly, the Driver side is where the problem is.

My understanding when looking at the diagram is:
#37 fuse under hood (white/blue wire) goes into the Power window relay, from the relay it branches off into 2 fuses, #15 (Green/white) and #16 (Blu/Black). The Blu/black goes to the Passenger side multiplex switch and the green/White goes to the driver side multiplex. We can rule out the relay because the passenger side window works fine. Manual says there should be voltage at the green/white wire with the ignition in the II position, that’s where I’m at a roadblock, I have no voltage there.
