power loss 85 bronco

      My friend bought a 85 bronco with a straight six and drive it home at 90 mph got home and drove ift for a couple days then it lost power it would max out at apx 25 mph I tried to fix it assuming it was a vaccum leak but that didn’t do anything any sugjestions?

        I cant tell you a 100% answer but id check fuel pressure under a load as in drive it with the tester on it. if good fuel pressure, id go after plugs, distributor rotor and cap.

          For an older vehicle like this your first step should be a proper tune up. As you check or replace items you can look for broken/missing/disconnected wires or vacuum hoses. Doing this also brings familiarity with this vehicle. And at the end of the day if you haven’t found the issue you at least know you have eliminated many possible causes of poor running. As always YMMV 😉

            start with some tune up items.Fuel filter,cap,rotor,wires,plugs

              instead of part replacing lets diagnose. I think fuel delivery would be a hesitation/power loss.lets get the pressure under idle and while driving. Who knows the fuel pump could be weak.
