      Hi all,

On my 2004 Impala I suspect I am going to be in need of a power steering rack as I have a “clunking” sound when making left and right turns. All the other suspension and tie rods are fairly new, but I will double check those in the hopes it is one of them.

What is a reputable remanufacturer of steering racks, or should I only purchase an ACDelco remanufacture? Are Cardone or NAPA rebuilds any good or avoid like the plague? If necessary for your decision, I plan on keeping the money pit as I am getting quite proficient at replacing parts on it.

Look at the control arm bushing (the one who looks like a hockey puck) they are prone to fail like balljoint and tie rod. The sway bar itelf break at the end of it.

We install napa and alcardone at our shop and we have no problem so far. We install napa first and alcardone if napa is no available. I only got 1 cardone so far that was leaking after few month at the input shaft area.

Don’t know about acdelco but we used other product from them and it’s pretty good, but again don’t know to much about their rebuild
