So i just bought this very beautiful civic with a “rebuilt engine” it has a d16z6 engine in it and when i test drove it everything was great no funny noises nothing, but now when i accelerate in any gear once i hit 2k rpm u can hear. The engine knocking, or at least i think thats what it is, also now when its warmed up and im at a stop or have the car in neutral the idle would get low and the oil pressure light comes on now :/ goes away soon as i get over 1k rpm, i hope i dont need a new engine but in ur opinions u guys think i have a spun bearing or sonething? Lil note i did take off the oil pan to replace the gasket and indeed found lil peices of metal( not like dust i knoe thats normal)

Finding pieces of metal in the pan is a very bad thing I am afraid. you can do an oil pressure test and see what that reads as well as a compression test and leak down test which will give you an idea of the internal wear but I feel the motor will have to be torn down to determine the origins of the metal bits and knock sound. keep us posted

A+ on the above post. Put a mechanical gage on there
to read actual oil pressure. sounds like lack of oil.
which we all know means damage.

Yep it doesn’t sound good, this video shows how oil pressure works as I think it applies to your situation.
