At Facebook Eric seems to be hinting about something big happening to ETCG. Anyone have any inside info? Also hinted at a fatr this week to tell us. I am very excited.

I am excited too. The suspense is killing me!
We can all speculate though as the term ‘meetings’ could mean a variety of things from hired help to sponsorship.
Roll on Friday!
February 7, 2012 at 11:00 am #452176I think Eric would be a great teacher, perhaps at a college where he can spend some time with students one on one. It wouldn’t necessarily mean less for us — it could be a win win situation. And it would be great for Eric, sustainable.
February 18, 2012 at 11:00 am #452177Yeah I think Eric should be some kind of instructor. Well he is in a way but I’d like to see that happen for him at an automotive college or vocational program. Well FATR ruling is in. FATR is being moved to ETCG and will only appear when he’s got the time and/or desire to produce them. Good for him. That stuff was taking a toll on him. As fun as it was I certainly don’t want to see him get burned out from all of this because we would all lose if that happens. I love his repair videos and at the chance of sounding dumb I’m glad the FATR is gone in favor of Dr./Professor Eric theory based stuff. If the FATR was parasitic to his time, effort, and mental health then so long not gonna miss ya. You know what I mean?
Can’t wait to see what Doctor/Professor Eric videos are going to be like. I LOOOOVE the theory based stuff. He’s obviously thought long and hard about this move so that it makes ETCG even better. I think it’s definitely going to be better for DIY’ers, Gearheads, and Techs… which is basically everyone who really love EricTheCarGuy videos. Definitely another big step in the right direction.
February 18, 2012 at 11:00 am #452178Agreed on exchanging FATR for some theory which is what I need so badly. Although I do love to see the lighter side of Eric in his FATRs but I guess if I had to choose theory wins for me. My concern about Eric teaching automotive at a school would be that he wouldn’t have as much time teach us etcg fans. But I’m being selfish there.
February 18, 2012 at 11:00 am #452179I agree with Twiggy. He would need to continue his education before he can be an instructor so that will take even more time away from the ETCG scene.
So with everyone else, id like to see hom progress more with the ETCG universe more C8-)
February 21, 2012 at 11:00 am #452180Well if that’s what it takes to improve his life then I say go for it. If you like the guy you’ll want to see him succeed and he’s obviously got the desire to be an instructor. Maybe he should think about doing something like ETCG University along with the Professor persona?
February 27, 2012 at 11:00 am #452181AnonymousI just got caught up on my ETCG videos (I was a few weeks behind). I’m glad Eric’s decided to focus more into the theory aspect of auto repair. I believe Eric’s a fan of the Youtube channels Richpin and Realfixesrealfast. They both go into theory (especially the latter) and I think that adds tremendous value to their shows. This paradigm shift makes Eric more of a teacher than just a parts swapper (and I don’t mean that in any bad way). Eric’s IS a fantastic teacher and I feel like I’m in there with him busting knuckles and improvising ways around problems. When Eric mentioned that something exciting was coming, at first I thought he was getting a lift. All things considered, I think his new show format ideas are a lot more interesting than a new toy.
On another note, I’m both happy and sad that FATR is moving, but honestly, I think it’ll put a lot more value into ETCG overall.
Hey Eric, if you read this and ever come out to Seattle, I’m taking you to Dirtfish. I’d like to see how crazy you are behind the wheel on gravel.
