I have a 1996 Plymouth Neon (reliable POS) with a serious charging system issue. I have replaced the alternator, battery, and battery posts. The battery light is still on and after a few drives the battery needs to be jumped…again…
I am not a pro at anything electrical so any help/advice/suggestions would be much appreciated!

Hello, while not a professional technician; I have at least one suggestion. On the wire from the alternator to the battery, there is usually a fusible link in the wire. (Not always as for as I know.) This fusible link is uselessly a couple wire size gauges smaller. Lets say the wire is a 12, but the link is a 14 for example. Wire gauge goes as the number size goes smaller the wire is actually bigger. At least for the American system. To tell if this link is shot find the place were there is like a usually a black heat shrink cover per-say. Pull at both ends and if the link comes apart, or your cover is mushy. This may be the problem. As to why it would give out? To much current flow for some reason, one reason I can think of anyways.
