just put a reman ecu into my 96 chrysler cirrus lx v6, and now i swear its possessed. it gave us idle issues right away car stalled a few sec after cold start, and the tach would jump around. today the transmission was bucking and the rpm of the car rose to 4000 rpm without my foot touching the gas, it drove up my drive way which is up hill without my pressing on the gas, the engine light came on then went out engine almost stalled and the oil light came on. since then its very hard to turn the engine over either wont turn over or starts then a min later it stalls. takes me ten min to get it running if not more.

what kind of problems where you having that caused the ecu to be replaced? you may have changed a good ecu woth a bad one, or one that isn’t programed for your vehicle. also did you change the prom from the old ecu into the new? keep posting and we will talk you through this. Good luck

the rediness codes werent there. fail inspections i was told the ecu had to be reprogrammed but my dad just replaced it. the old ecu had some problems with starting the car occasionally but it started to fix its self the more i drove it

you should re-flash the ECU and see if that helps. you’ll probably be going to the dealer to get this done.

i would examine the PID data observed via the ECU with a scan tool. in this manner, we can see what the computer sees and put an end to all this speculation.
