pinto or mercury WAGON fuel tank 1975 1980

:unsure: Hello a friend of mine is restoring a 1977 Mercury Bobcat Wagon and we want to find a used fuel tank. Does any one know of an existing pinto wagon for parts?

If you google pinto fuel tank alot comes up. I would not recommend a used tank.
It will be a rust bucket.

yes I know many different pinto gas tanks are available but the one that will actually fit the Pinto Wagon are different. the filler tube hole is in a different spot.

We successfully found a tank that will fit a wagon. regular Pinto Tanks will not fit around the well for the spare tire.

No it was used but a very recent retired car in great shape and was being used with fresh gasoline and no rust inside and minor rust outside. You cannot find one new that will fit a wagon. Does not exist rockauto and various sites do not carry just regular pinto tanks. The he tank has a bend in the upper section and accommodates the spare tire well and a regular pinto tank will not fit it has the spare tire offset
