Let me clarify what I am getting at:

      I have a 2003 Chevrolet Impala LS 3.8L V6
It needs tie rod ends replaced…I went to Advance Auto and they suggested Moog because they are a good quality brand, but they are almost 70 dollars a piece and the “DriveWorks” brand is around 26 dollars a piece.

I went home and checked online…here is where is gets interesting…

      Moog’s part # is ES3459
      DriveWorks Part # is DW-ES3459
      Duralast Part # (AutoZone): ES3459
      ValuCraft Part# (Autozone): VES3459

Are they the same part just in a box that says DriveWorks or Moog?

I’m gonna say no they may be the part in theory but not in Quality.

All parts are not created equal.

I was a manager at AutoZone and Advance. I can say with absolute certainty that Driveworks and Valucraft are never a Moog part. They bid those out to the lowest bidder and are often times manufactured just a hair out of spec and with inferior internals. I hate to say it, but Duralast uses a lot of Moog parts just in their own box. I hate Duralast because they sure feel inferior in real world applications, but there is a coin toss on any given part that it could be a Moog that you’re pulling out of that box.
