2013 Nissan Altima S with 2.5 cvt tranny. Originally had maf sensor prob. thats changed. Now ok. Had a Misfire cylinder 1 and changed the coil to cylinder 1 and realized it might be related to P1715. Had the car reprogrammed. Now the remaining codes are P1715 Pully Speed? and C1154 pnp posi sig. The car drives but abruptly shifts down out of nowhere. It lags to accelerate to 45 mph. It has about 65k, yeah its just out of warranty.

CVT tranny has been a major let down. P1715 I took out the input shaft speed sensor and cleaned that out. The C1154 pnp posi sig I have now idea how to fix that.
Im trying to fix this because I don’t have the money and fairly know cars. Anyone know what to do or if its worth just taking it to a transmission place, because the dealer is very expensive they charge for the smallest things.

P1715 is a logic failure code and is set when input speed sensor signal is different from the theoretical value calculated by ECM from output speed sensor signal and engine RPM signal. Check to see if the sensor has 12V on yellow wire, ground on the black wire and the Brwon wire is your signal wire to the transmission control module. You need to confirm that the signal is being generated by the sensor and if it is that the TCM is seeing the signal. If you have a scan tool that does live data for the transmission then their should be a data parameter for the input speed sensor. You really need an oscilloscope to see the signal on the sensor but a multimeter will do. back probe the signal wire and see if you are getting any voltage change on the signal wire.
Code C1154 is for the signal from the transmission range sensor to tell various computers what gear is selected on the transmission.
Both of these codes require some electrical tools, a scan tool, and some electrical knowhow to diagnose properly.

Didn’t Nissan extend warranty on the CVT?
