to check the IAC try tapping it with the handle of a screw driver. see if the idle changes. if it does then replace it. 2nd check for vacuum leaks.
3rd check the egr. good luck and keep us posted. C8-)

+1 on checking for vacuum leaks and on that vehicle particularly around the PCV hoses.

Here is Eric’s video on checking for vacuum leaks without the use of a smoke machine –

              Ok.
Iv got a ecusim 5100 pro scan tool. It checks for everything. from pcm tcm -airbag abs seats and such.

Iv checked the engine my self for vacuum leaks. None found.

I drove the car with the iacv unplugged and there was a little differnts in idl and driving/accl.

I even cleared the code and unplugged the battery to reset the pcm. and rechecked everything.

Drove the car and steal had the same problems – as soon as i put the car in park the p1506 came back.

I let the car idl for a bit and used my wireless scan tool and watched it from the computer…

At one point it threw a warning sign at me and said lean condition detected but then went away. was only on for about 10secs My scanner saves all the code found to a folder on the computer i will copy the lean code and see what yall think (As soon as i find it)

If the code comes back in Park, that means the PCM is having difficulty adjusting for the idle.

Yea it will set that code if the computer can’t adjust the idle and when you go from drive or reverse to park the idle should adjust. The thing is with a recent engine replacement and a dirty fuel system there could be other things going on. I would start by checking to see if the idle air control valve was working properly by tapping on it as suggested, you really can’t monitor that on a scan tool, in fact you would need a special tool to activate it and check it’s operation. Don’t rule out a wiring or connector issue since the engine was just replaced that’s a real possibility. Cleaning up after the work of others is never fun because pretty much you have to start at square one and suspect everything they touched.
