      Hey everyone!

I’m new to posting in this forum. I’ve come here occasionally for tips in the past. Great forum and great people!

So, I have an 2001 Honda Accord engine type F23A4. It recently flagged a check engine light. I didn’t think much of it at first, but then it started blinking. I don’t know too much about cars, but I do know this is a bad sign. I had the OBD checked, and it came back as a p1399 code. The check engine light only blinks when the car is idling. When I accelerate or drive over 2000rpms, it seems to run fine and the CEL stops blinking. I’ve taken it to 2 different mechanics who say it could be 2 different problems. One suggested an EGR port cleaning, and the other suggested a new distributor. I have been throwing parts, time, and money at this car, and just can’t seem to fix it.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

      New distributor
      New plugs/wires
      Cleaned EGR port
      Cleaned EGR valve
      Cleaned throttle body
      Cleaned manifold
      Cleaned IACV

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you in advance!!

Did the new distributor come with a new coil and igniter module inside? I am assuming it did. Many times when people get misfire codes they start replacing ignition components. True, faulty ignition components can cause misfires. However, more often than not, when codes like P0300 and P1399 show up it is a fuel delivery issue. You may want to check the fuel pressure next. If you do not have the tools to check this, and don’t want to invest in a fuel pressure gauge and fittings, have a shop test it for you.

I haven’t checked for vacuum leaks yet. I don’t have the pressure gauge to do so. It’s a 2.3 ULEV.

I’ll definitely have the fuel pressure tested at a shop. I’ll post results as soon as I can get it in.

            Thanks, guys!
