P0730 QUESTION

HEY!!!! IS THE P0730 ALWAYS A TRANSMISSION REPLACE OR COULD IT BE A SOLENOID OR FLUSH AND REFILL?

That code does not always mean transmission replacement. If I were you, I would take it to a transmission shop and have them diagnose it with their computer. It may very well be a shift solenoid, those are easy to replace and can even be repaired depending on what broke and how much of a life you have. Are there any other DTC’s present? If so, find and fix those issues first, the p0730 may fix itself as a result. The 2 things that initially pop into my head are shift solenoid or clutch pressure solenoid. Tranny shop should be able to tell you for sure.

Please do not flush your transmission. Only drain and refill.

A transmission flush will damage the internals on this transmission in particular.

You could try the drain and refill with genuine Honda fluid.
But transmissions of that era are prone to failure.

THANKS GUYS!!! I WAS WORRIED THAT A REPLACE MAY BE THE ONLY OPTION….
YES THERE ARE OTHER DTC’S WHICH ARE P1456, P1164, P0700….

As for the transmission you might want to do a drain and refill as suggested. You might also try removing the solenoid assembly from the top of the transmission to see if the screen in the gasket is clogged with gunk. If it is, clean it out and reset your codes and see what you get after the drain and refill. The 4 cylinder transmissions weren’t known for problems like the V6 transmissions were so you might be OK. It is very important to only use Honda fluid though to help prevent future issues.

The P1456 might be a loose gas cap. the P1164 might be an AF sensor problem (O2 sensor).
