      Hi
      i’m driving a Honda civic (2004) Es5(code name) (1.6L) had a head gasket issue and replaced it,all fine now
      ,but yesterday I got a Chk engine light(P0420) (P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold) , the i erase the error suing my OBD2 scan tool(bluetooth device). so far everything is ok.

      According to my scan tool , my air intake temp is around 50-60C (here ambient temp is 30C).
      also Manifold pressure is in high side (changes between 80-40 )

      o2 sensor voyages r changing rapidly (see the attached pic please78

      )

      1 )Is there a connection? CAt error ans those 2 high readings?
      2) there was a 3rd party power air intake fixed to one of my air lines)

      My mechanic removed it few month ago, should I re fix it? :ohmy:

      Pls help me.. I’m confused too many things to worry about,

      Note : i had a faulty O2 sensor(secondary ) and replaced it with a new one (universal one bought it from Ebay) :dry:

      Thank you
      Kp

        I have found over the years a P0420 is just that, a bad converter. Rarely have I seen it be a case of bad O2s or anything else. I have a feeling that air charge thing is probably a pseudoscience-device, does not probably do much.

        Sorry Kp, most likely it is time to replace the converter.

          ok 🙁 then what about my secondary o2 sensor , shouldn’t it be consistent(voltage ) ?

            It would be if your converter was working correctly, a dead give away is the secondary tries to match the primary O2s.

            Are you in an emissions checking state?
