      Hi

      Working on a 1.8 16V petrol DOHC VVT Opel/Vauxhall Vectra – 2006.

Car works fine with no apparent misfiring and no loss of power.

      No engine or spanner light.

Has P0170 stored. Reappears after deletion.

On this car: P0170 = “fuel trim malfunction bank 1”.

General code that can mean almost everything – so I have read.

      – MAF
      – pre-cat oxygen sensor
      – vacuum leak
      – fuel pressure
      – faulty thermostat
      – more curious (overfilling of oil)
      – EVAP related (something with under/over pressure in fuel tank and evap solenoid)

I don’t suspect MAF og pre-cat oxygen. No apparent vacuum leak. Has good fuel pressure and all injectors work fine. Temp steady around 92 celcius.

I do not have access to live data.

While driving the car with the windows down I heard rattling when passing speed bumps. Blocked the tail pipe and found a pretty obvious leak in the tail pipe, but well after the cat end the flexible part.

Could this result in a P0170??? Thiis should not affect the post-cat oxygen sensor and there is no oxygen sensor code. Only thing could be that the engine does not get the right amount of back pressure/resistance…?
