Hey everyone! It’s me again! the guy with the bravada problems! so here are some details about the vehicle. It’s a 97 AWD Bravada, 4l60e, 6 cylinder, and has brought me through a new life journey of fun repairing it. I had the dreaded P0785 issue with it not downshifting, and I only say dreaded because I had gotten this vehicle for very cheap, as a hobby to work on in my down time from work. ( I still had another vehicle that was my go-to, well, until I loaned it to my sister and she blew the engine. Isn’t family great? So it was dreaded as its the only vehicle I have, other than my work vehicle). On to my point and a little breakdown on what I’ve done, in hopes that I could get some suggestions.

After fixing my previous issue, which was mentioned in another topic, I now noticed that I’m receiving a p0122 code, now, I did have to do a little work around the throttle body, sensor, I did not touch the IAC, I actually cleaned the living dead out of the throttle plate, walls, surrounding, butterfly, inside, outside, around and around. Now, I know for a fact that this issue was not happening until after fixing the downshift issue, but before I cleaned the living dead out of the throttle body. I’m assuming this occurred after removing the TPS sensor during a prior repair. So I’m going to ask the most easiest question first.

Does this vehicle need to do a relearn procedure and it will eventually go away on it’s own? Or is this code triggering something that needs some attention?

      Thanks!

Seeing the tps was removed, you may need to adjust it to get it back in spec.
        see if this helps.

Double checked the TPS, thanks for the link, College Man. TPS was good.

Ended up finding a crack and a chunk missing on the underside of the brake booster valve boot (and a hairline crack on the boot that goes to the engine. Im not sure what that part is called) Drove it around a bit and so far so good. I have a lot of driving to do today so if it comes back, I’ll know by this afternoon. I’ll post a picture of the valve boot as soon as I get to my PC for future purposes of others. (Can’t seem to upload from my phone)

          Thanks

Not sure if this will work the way I’m wanting it to, but here is the picture. The boot crumbled quite a bit once I got it pulled off. I actually had to slit one side of the boot carefully (flathead screwdriver worked well) to get it off in fear I’d damage the actual valve.

              Will keep posted. B)
