P0118 on 1999 honda crv

I have a 1999 honda crv I have a code p0118 just recently pop out today…. does that code consist of replacing the thermostat… I have no idea please help thanks

P0118 – Engine temp coolant circut high – I would start by checking the coolant temp sensor. use a dvom and check the resistant measurement and compare to the specs in a service manual.

Without the right tools, its going to be very difficult to diagnose your issue. There is no simple fix or one answer for every CEL.

You can buy a DVOM for $10.

You might also see if it’s plugged in or if there’s damage to the wiring.
