So today I was sitting at a stop sign waiting for traffic to clear when suddenly my 2013 Dodge Dart with 1.4l turbo stalled out randomly, when I restarted the car it was very rough but no lights came on so I stopped at the nearby gas station to check it out. As I pulled up it died out again. All gauges still seemed normal including the temp, I checked under the hood for anything obvious such as smoke, loose connections or tubes but found nothing. I was just a mile or so away from home so I decided to start it again and drive it the mile home, but as I was pulling into my neighborhood it looked like a Christmas tree on the dashboard. I got a solid check engine light and solid traction control off light, and a flashing electronic throttle control light(red lightning bolt) I shut her down and rolled to my driveway and pushed it up.
Unfortunately my tools were all stolen a few months back so I’m very limited right now, so I went and bought a code scanner to start with. It is only giving code p0106 no misfires or other symptoms. I would just replace the sensor however with the code scanner it actually showed the map sensor Psi that seemed like it may be working?
I don’t have any experience using the live sensors on code scanner so admittedly I don’t know everything I’m looking at but here’s what I saw when I tried running it:
Map sensor started with 8psi and varied up to around 16 psi as the engine cranked and ran rough for approximately 10 seconds before dying.
What I found interesting was the short fuel trim showed 0% until after around 5 seconds when it got a really rough idle and died out, at this time it jumped to 25 percentAny tips on where I can look? Everything with the map sensor seems plugged in fine I just don’t know where to look first and I don’t want to just throw parts at it.
